when they put on the speed linit is it just for the downstream? will my upload stay at 192Kb/s ???

when they put on the speed linit is it just for the downstream? will my upload stay at 192Kb/s ???I would imagine both the downstream and upstream speed will be capped at the 64K mark. You should really phone your ISP and have this confirmed if it will be an issue with your setup.

317497 2005-01-24 06:50:00 I think Jen is quite right. Once they put your cap in place, you'll probably have 64kbps.

Note, you mentioned 192Kb/sec. That is quite different to kbps. 192Kb/sec converts to a 1.536Mbps connection. Either way, the cap will mean a 64kbps / 8Kb/sec connection.

Easy to mix up really. It cuts to 64k/64k mate. Are you hosting or what?

Do you have a static IP address? Because you really need one to be able to provide acceptable service.

The connection speed is not usually an issue as long as you don't do big downloads, but be careful of blowing your 10GB. Remember that you are at the mercy of every person that surfs a site from your server - each person uses up your bandwidth.
