| 317283 | 2005-01-23 09:57:00 | Running Windows XP with firewall, virus protection plus adaware & spybot. Computer has had registry taken over, go gack lost all restore points and no programs will run when restore registry is fine then ad wtch event log shows 48 registry changes making any programs unusable. Seemed to happen possibly when an email would not open, was never opened but after that computer crashed with the registry being corrupted at startup. Any ideas? Worse senario is a reformat but would like to avoid if possible. Cheers | antiques (6978) | ||
| 317284 | 2005-01-23 18:28:00 | See if you can download and run this www.simplysup.com Its only a trial for 30 days. BUT it might fix the prob. Get it up to date, then do a scan. See what it picks up. Also select the 3rd and 4th option under Utilities menu (reset home page and reset hosts file). If you cant run that (can you run anything like the browser)??
