317183 2005-01-23 05:15:00 I have a Panasonic X60 phone that can transfer data via an infra-red port. How can I use this to communicate with my PC? - I want to use it to transfer photos to the PC. What hardware do I need? Can I get some sort of IR transceiver that plugs into the USB or Firewire ports or do I need something specialised? Can I do it at all? Any suggestions appreciated.
Cheers,
andy.

317184 2005-01-23 06:48:00 You can buy IR adapters from Dick Smith Electronics, $46 - $68 that connect to a USB port. godfather (25)
317185 2005-01-23 08:22:00 DSE has 3 types of infrared interface USB, serial port and a cable one which connects to a header on the mother board.
I use a DSE serial cable ir (run out of usb ports) and wasnt sure if my mb was new enough for header link.
As far as programs go you can go to manufactures phone site and download one. I use a program called logo rama which come with DSE ir.
You can test the link by using tv remote it comes up with unauthorised infrared activity!.
