2005-01-25 12:38:00 | Wish I'd used builders or earthmoving contractors now, at least I have more experience of them and their little ways. You could still get them on the CGA IIRC. What are they charging for the Albatron and the 3400? Anyway, the spec is so totally different with that baord especially, wait it out, you'll not regret it, besides it doesn't take more than a couple of periods to put a box together :D may take a couple more to troubleshoot though

2005-01-25 12:49:00 | Are you suggesting I dont go to class  The Albatron is $159 . 11 and the 3400+ was $425 . 78 . . wow Nah, of course not, what ever gave you that idea . The evenings, after hiomework, or the weekend is better for projects like that anyway . Don't forget to read every manual twice (RTFM), research anything you don't have an understanding of and don't be afraid to ask .

2005-01-25 12:58:00 | Ok, I will RTFM. Is albabron a seires of nVIDAIA grx cards? Will it work with Gigabyte GA-K8NSNXP-939? Otherwise I will have to get PCU to give me my money back for the grx card also. :stare:

2005-01-25 13:07:00 | Albatron do make gfx cards, I think they're ok, but once again models and the cards (fine print) spec's are very important to performance as seemingly similar cards can have quite different internal components. There are better people here to ask about that than me, though. Post the cards details, everything you have on it. I'd still be inclined to take it all back, if I was you. Beddie byes for me now I think, I need few hours of shut eye to keep my good looks intact :groan:

2005-01-25 17:03:00 | Of course you have to take it all back and get a refund. Don't take any nonsense from them. As you are still at school I would suggest you take an adult with you. They will probably be less likely to argue. Or else take the school rugby team. There is no way they could have made an error. It was a deliberate attempt to mislead you. You asked for the latest model and they gave you a model that is being superceded. And as you were charged the same price you were probably robbed too. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with a 754.I have just put one in my comp. But it is the end of the line. You will not be able to upgrade you CPU. I have just checked prices at ASCENT. 3500 CPU $507.58 3400 CPU $404.64 They don't list the Albatron M/B but they are a cheaper brand than Gigabyte. You were robbed. Jack

2005-01-25 22:13:00 | They dont have to give me a refund by law :( . I will make them give me what i want tho :D Thanks  If it was a genuine mistake, then they have the right to correct that error, so the advice to ask for your money back and go elsewhere is a little over-enthusiastic . If they cannot correct the error within a reasonable time frame (24-48 hours seems reasonable in these circumstances) then by law they DO have to give you a refund . The only exception in these circumstances would be if they gave you exactly what you asked for, then you got home and changed your mind . If that was the case you are not entitled to a refund and they do not have to exchange the goods either, though provided the MB has not been installed and the packaging is OK there is no reason why they shouldn't . It is your obligation to check that you have been given the correct goods before leaving the store . Cheers Billy 8-{)

If we believe Tribomb he asked for parts by make and model. There is just no room for an error. What puzzles me is why the shop deliberately gave him different parts. They must have realised that they would be found out in very quick time. Interesting, Jack :illogical :illogical |

2005-01-25 22:35:00 | He not only asked for parts my name and model, He had a detailed print out of the exact components. They simply palmed off to him what they had. If they worked for me they would be fired.
