317710 2005-01-26 00:27:00 Going by that logic my AMD 3000 wont cut it then, seeing as it runs at 2ghz.

Oh wait,whats that?.....124fps?...sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

317711 2005-01-26 01:32:00 The Sempron 2200 is the slowest, least powered CPU made by AMD. Please dont take this the wrong way, but it is not designed for Gaming - I build alot of machines for various people, and would probably only use Sempron 2200 for checking email and surfing.

The 6600GT is awesome - I just got a Legend one, and it kicks everything, however I was running an XP2400 and this was limiting the performance from the VGA card.

Before you blow $350 on a VGA card, you might want to look at a Gaming CPU - Athlon XP 2800 or better.

317713 2005-01-27 01:15:00 Pardon my ignorance - but how do you "over clock"? Shaun2005 (6384)

Are you asking if an AMD 2800+ has a real clockspeed of 2.8ghz?

If so then no,Not even close,It just has a Performance rating of 2800,and it the real world falls behind the 2.8 P4.

The Sempron Cpu's are the same chips as the Athlons ,except with higher PR ratings to compare against the Celeron range rather the the Pentuim (ie a 2400 Sempron is the equilivent to a 2000+ Athlon)

The Sempron 2200+ chip that the thread starter has will indeed bottleneck the system to a small amount, but with a good video card he will be in much better shape then with the 9550....

317715 2005-01-27 07:37:00 no im talking bout equiliants noone (22)
317716 2005-01-27 08:08:00 The equiliants were decimated by the floods and then resulting famine of 1266, They left there cities and spread around the numerous parts of Mexico, eventually being assimilated into the broader population.... Metla (12)
