| 317606 | 2005-01-24 22:11:00 | Thanks guys . I thought as much but wanted to be sure that they didn't have a leg to stand on before I got my eye-poking stick out . Yes, but can I borrow yours? I think it would be a lot sharper than my one . :p Actually, I've found blunt sticks to be much more effective, although you need to get the technique just right for maximum impact . That being a vigorous twist as stick meets eye ball whilst aiming the thrust towards the back of the head . Plant one foot as high up the chest as possible then withdraw your stick, slowly . This is when you put your polite request to the recipient, if you still haven't got their full and undevided attention, repeat your request while lining up the remaing eye . Guaranteed to work nine times out of ten without having to resort to eye number two  |

| 317608 | 2005-01-24 22:47:00 | I kinda have a case like this with my current computer, still under warranty. Something is wrong, and the temp. just goes up and up to about 70 degrees, and then a BSOD (which im told here would actually be a kernal dump) happens, and the computer restarts. I think it would go higher if it didnt restart. Anyway, we took it in, and the told us it was a software problem, even though they tested it, and could see, yes thats amazing, it turns off/crashes when it reaches 70 degrees, but it is cleary a software problem, so we are not going to try and cool your PC. We havn't installed anything heat warning thing that would shut the computer down at a high temperature. Anyway, it actually crashes, not just restarts. You get a daft techy sometimes I guess. Even if it was a software problem crashing it, it the temperature should not be going up and up anyway, and that should be something to fix as well. |

Apparently the problems started not long after my friend updated AVG to the new version so she is worried that had something to do with it . I rubbished that theory, saying it is a coincidence but I think that's the story she told the store when she took it in . They have obviously taken advantage of it in order to discount her warrranty claim . Is that a dirty trick or what?! |

| 317615 | 2005-01-25 01:38:00 | If all fails, Commerce Commission should work -as will Disputes Tribunal. Doubt you'll get to that stage though. Hopefully, the techie that served your friend is reading this... | ~sy~ (95) | ||
