318027 2005-01-25 21:28:00 Hi Fellas
I recently upgraded to XP over 98 and put on SP2. When I use the mouse it either pauses or jumps all over the place or freezes. Windows told me that a few things on my comp were not compatable, including DirectX9 (which I reloaded) and my mouse, so I uninstalled Intellipoint 3.2 and and put on Vers. 4.12 - no joy. I reinstalled a couple of other programs which put stuff on my desktop and not being the brightest computer user I wiped off the info by mistake while cleaning up. So I do not know what else may be wrong and me mouse still don't work.
I have XP Home 5.1, AMD Athlon XP 1600+, 512RAM
In advance, thanks for any help.

318028 2005-01-25 21:41:00 Is the mouse PS2 or USB? I've noticed that I've had issues using various USB meese with SP2 but PS2 still works dandy. pixeldust (6619)
318029 2005-01-25 22:24:00 SP2 I changed it over, probably not supposed to do that and it was worse, so it is still SP2 SMs (6922)

Best. Comment. Ever. :)

So, your mouse is or isn't a PS2? I think you're getting confused between SP2 (Windows XP Service Pack 2) and PS2 (the mouse connection type)...

318033 2005-01-25 22:44:00 I guess someone has to ask the obvious - does the mouse need a clean? Ball and rollers, or teflon pads if optical? Or does the battrey need changing if cordless? Tony (4941)
318034 2005-01-25 23:03:00 I am getting more confused. It has an ABS connection with a SP2 adapter. (Please????) so it is running with a SP2 connection. If I knew what side was up I would not be here in the first place. 'Please send those nice young men in their clean white coats.' SMs (6922)
