You'll most probably get spammed to death now.

317681 2005-01-24 22:58:00 From what I can see, it's classified as a controllerless winmodem. Winmodems are notoriously hard to get running under linux usually so you might want to look around for a cheap external serial modem. There does seem to be a few linux drivers for it though.

Have a look round this site: http://www.linmodems.org/ and you may find what you need.

317682 2005-01-25 01:23:00 Did you get a CD of drivers with the modem? There might be a Linux driver on that . If not, the support page for the XH1154 on DSE web site shows that they have one for download . It's a "tarball" file, so that probably means you will need to compile it . It looks to be meant for Mandrake, but it will probably be fine for Fedora .

When you get the file, in a terminal window, as root, do: tar xvzf XH1154_4 . 69* then cd X1154* and ls . Read any files called README or INSTALL, or things like that .

Youi might need to install the development stuff, and a kernel source . . . but just try this first . ;)
