2005-01-26 22:43:00 | I use OE6 and after my re install of XP - have found these two problems.... 1 - after receiving new mail (from Paradise) - I get an error message that the server can no longer be found. And 2 - if visiting a newsgroup - I can view all the postings - but when I click on any to download - nothing happens - this problem has only just started. Any ideas?????

2005-01-26 23:09:00 | What do you mean by download?? If you can view the newsgroups, and read them, thats it. Most newgroups dont have anything in them to download. Whats meant to happen?? Or what are you expecting to happen/download? You just read whatever and reply. I would check that the newsgroup server for your ISP has been entered in properly. And that your pop / smtp info has been entered in correctly. So, you can receive email.

With their (Paradise) newsgroups - the postings are listed but you have to click on them in order to download them - that is the bit that isn't working. |

2005-01-27 00:18:00 | The +'s if there are any in any newsgroup/s. Telling u theres replies/questions in it (to the left of the subject of the newsgroup question) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2005-01-27 00:29:00 | Ah ha - now I get you - I'm not sure the newsgroup I was trying to download from this morning didn't have any - and when I clicked on the post to download all I got was the hourglass for a couple of secs and then back to the pointer - nothing else happened and it was working prefectly a couple of days ago | Shaun2005 (6384) | |
2005-01-27 00:39:00 | Open OE then tools/options and read tab. Where it has 300 by the news option change it to 1000. Then highlight a newsgroup. Then go to tools/Get next 1000 headers. See what happens then

2005-01-27 00:43:00 | Cheers - it is set to get 1000 headers - but I'll check the other part out and see what that is set on. Thanks once again
