318302	2005-01-26 08:48:00	Hey guys, I just installed Windows 98SE onto my cousins computer, after having 2000, and before that, XP on the thing. Its an AMD K6 500Mhz with 128MB SDRAM (100) and 4MB of that is shared to the integrated video. XP and 2000 seemed to pick up the drivers fine, I don't remeber having to install any driver when I reformatted with 2000. Now, I have found out that the chipset is SIS... the company I have the most driver locating/installing problems with. I thort it was the 540 chipset, but upon downloading the drivers, I coulnd't just install them it wanted me to do them manually... which was a b*tch to say the least. Windows keeps pulling up its own driver from teh windows dir... So is there a program that looks to the hardware for indentificcation... I tried SiSoft Sandra but that pulls its info from the driver files... well, for the info on the components that i want to know about anyway... Anyway, off to welly tomorow, so I'll be back to check in a couple days.. Cheers hamstar	hamstar (4)

I get all of my odd-bod drivers from www.driverguide.com :thumbs: Currently, the User ID is ' drivers ' (without the quote marks) and the Password is ' all ' ... this universal access is about to change though, as you'll discover when you get there, so check it out soon ... I had a look for a driver for your chipset, yup, one is there with user comments that are worth reading. Like I said, this is my main site for driver downloads. Microsoft can go blow. Users post actual files or links there, others can add their comments as to how reliable or user friendly their downloads were etc etc. Hope this helps.	Roszarie (7006)
