318280 2005-01-26 08:06:00 I have an old laptop (Toshiba 440 CDX) that has been idle for about a year and I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that it doesn't boot. However, despite it's limitations today I would like to resurrect it.
I am guessing that it is the internal battery that has gone flat but would appreciate any suggestions of other possible causes. The removable Li-ion battery is fully charged as it powers a second laptop that I have. When I press the power button I get a response from the various indication lights but that's all. At least it is trying bless its cotton socks.

Thanks for any help you can give.

BTW it's "Cottonsofts" not "Cotton socks" ;)

Yes I tried with AC Adaptor and with battery. According to what the LED's are telling me it is getting power.

Cotton socks or Cottonsofts, it still isn't working

The old saying is " bless its little cotton socks" and kibo has got it in the right context as well.

Cottonsofts is simply an ad on TV about loopaper and they obviously did a play on words using an old saying from way back.

Anyhow, hope you get an answer to your Toshiba problem. Hope my Toshiba keeps on playing well.
