2005-01-28 07:00:00 | johnboy. Yes I looked at that thanks. Also on TradeMe. It is a possible hobby & a bit of a dream. I cannot justify spending a lot of money on it. Even tried Googling under Freeware but this is one programme that MS will not let go of. PJ | Poppa John (284) | |
2005-01-28 07:14:00 | If no offers come then I would recommend 1st page (http://www.evrsoft.com/) I have used both in the past and found both ok, but 1st page is free and they both do the same type of job. I think it was on an earlier PC World CD which I can dig out and send if you like if you dont want to download it. PM me if you want.

2005-01-28 07:20:00 | Sam m.... Very generous thankyou. Does 1st Page work the same as Frontpage? I do not want to get involved inthe HTML (??) script patf. Frontpage is more Drag & Drop. which this old fella can cope with. PJ | Poppa John (284) | |
2005-01-28 07:58:00 | It does advertise as WYSIWYG editor which is what it sounds like you are after. I never did use that as I wanted to learn html and it was perfect for me to learn. Nothing to lose as far as I'm concerned. Even if you did get a hold of frontpage, then the process / language you learn from 1st page are similar so it cant hurt. warning: there is a file (something to do with buttons) on 1st page that many AV scanners pick up as a virus, but it isnt, I dont think it was ever resolved with AV scanners. I have found it on the October '04 CD. I can send it to you if you want. No cost. I had frontpage for such a short time as I was using it on friends PC and from memory it was fairly simple. I spent most of my learning on 1st page but like Prescott suggested I now use dreamweaver which I like more for the layout and the built in ftp.

2005-01-28 08:21:00 | If you are wanting to learn HTML then I would recommend HTML Kit - see www.chami.com This toolkit is free and was originally designed by W3C - the people that are responsible for standards on the web.

2005-01-28 08:28:00 | I do not really want to get into HTML. But thanks for the link. I was shown Frontpage at Metla's shop today. It seemed so easy (when he used it). It was almost like a more powerful version of Word, sort of !!!! PJ | Poppa John (284) | |
2005-01-28 08:36:00 | You used to get a cutdown version with Windows called Frontpage Express, it's downloadable from sssd.k12.ar.us | snoopy (74) | |
