| 319042 | 2005-01-29 01:53:00 | Have just read a bit about Adsl modems causeing problems with cordless phones. My previous question on this subject failed to mention that I have a cordless phone. I didn't realise that there would be a difference. I have an extension lead about 40 feet long from my phone jack to my computer. It was suggested that this might be causing the noise. I have tried removing my filter from the jack by my desk and plugging the phone in. A perfectly clear line. So it's not the extension. As soon as I put the filter back and try the phone, still OK. I plug in the modem and I get quite a loud hum. No static, more like a car running at a fast idle. I have separated all my wireing and the modem wire is in the clear. I have a USB modem. Could it help if I got a serial modem? Or is a modem router worth a try? Jack |

So you could replace the phone or you could go for the splitter install option from Telecom. | E|im (87) | ||
