| 319729 | 2005-01-31 07:10:00 | My pc doesnt recognise a usb keyboard anymore. i have tried the keyboards with other pcs and they work fine; the pc recognises any other usb device connected to any port but the keyboard does not work as soon as the windows logo comes on. before the logo comes on, the lights on the keyboard work and i am able to use the keyboard to enter bios and move around, but i am not sure what i am doing in bios and dont want to mess around too much. can anybody advise me? windows xp home, bog standard packard bell pc | oscar91 (2025) | ||
| 319730 | 2005-01-31 07:29:00 | Hmm i would if u can get a usb to ps/2 adaptor. See if it works in a PS/2 port. Then go into the BIOS (if u can) and see if there's a option in the BIOS for a USB keyboard. If so, enable. Save the settings in BIOS reboot. | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

The only other thing why the other USB port doesnt work is when u first install XP, (if u have just reinstalled it) it might not be enabled in device manager?? Good to know u got 1 working  |
