319566 2005-01-31 07:31:00 I use dBpoweramp music converter. (www.dbpoweramp.com) It has a CD ripper along with a whole array of audio conversion options, plus you can get lots of codec plugins for it. Best of all, it's freeware.

EDIT: Hmm, it looks like they've sold out, the latest version has a 30 day trial on the mp3 conversions. Try to find an older version of it.

319567 2005-01-31 07:32:00 CDA is simply a 'representation' of the audio CD's. The CDA files themselves are empty if you try copy/paste them.

I would suggest Quintessential Media Player. Its a great media player for Windows users and is nice and easy to use.

Using Windows Media Player it'll default to WMA or poor bitrate mp3's. I would advise against it.

319571 2005-02-13 03:44:00 I finally settled on Audiograbber so deleted all the others. Now, when I tried to make an mp3 it gave me a WMA which Nero didn't seem to be able to burn to a disc, so I made an .ogg copy this also caused problems for Nero. (no burn). I then thought that when I deleted all the other trial burners I must have lost a necessary file. I put in the nero disc that I have had for 4 years and it said your trial version has expired so I went to the Nero site and upgraded my 5.5 ..... version to 5.5.? 56 but I am still having the same prob trying to burn the ogg or wma file. Also , may not be related but every time I start up my comp it says"ODBC cant load the resource \Windows\System. and it usually starts with 16 colours, not 16 bit, any assis. would be much appreciated. gradebdan (2186)
