How do I do the command line thingie in WinXP ?
With Win98 I think I right clicked Start and got the Run line.

Thanks - this would be most useful !

Exactly the same - Start --> Run (XP-Pro at least, not sure about Home) or alternately (and far more convenient at times) [WinKey]+R to bring up the run box. Type cmd into the Open dialog rather than the netstat command as if you run netstat from the Run dialog it'll execute and close its own window before you see the output.

Koenig - Yes, I see it now : "Open the Command Window", but Winkey + R is nicer. Thanks.

Vinref - I have installed Active Ports and it works well. A great little program. I was interested to read Cnet.com user comments, that some thought the program added spyware but were mistaken. And I have also learned about "svchost.exe" (not being the trojan by a similar name). ;)

Chill - Cnet says of CommView "Monitor and analyze data moving through any Ethernet network. Free to try, $99 to buy."
