320388 2005-02-01 19:00:00 They are useless at detecting adware and spyware (but they don't target that anyhow),at best they may pick up a browser hijack,

On a 1-to-10 scale of having your back side covered, I would say your about to get Rogered.

Have u tried trojan remover? if not u cant comment.

And youre wrong it does know what spyware/adware is. It does a better job than most, since it scans a hdd and the registry. Most things dont.

And no, youre wrong. I havent been hacked into.

M$ Antispy is a browser hijacker. Notice how it "complains" that MSN is not your default homepage & offers to "fix" this for you?

Apart from that, considering they just bought the already-good Giant Antispyware & slapped their name on it, it's not too bad.

It does complain about VNC being spyware, though, which can be a pain to be constantly reminded of it if you installed it yourself

320391 2005-02-01 20:11:00 They should have bought Adaware, then we would have been right. Cicero (40)
320392 2005-02-01 20:37:00 Installed it about 3 weeks ago and it has found one spyware threat. However as I run spybot and ad aware also, I dont think the MS one is really necessary as well.

I just wonder what will happen when this version expires on 31 July. Will we have to pay MS to use it after that?

Right,Other programs that actually target spyware and adware don't bother to scan the registry or the hdd....they must be scanning thin air then.....
