Not really good with cars so would like someone to confirm something for me

Is this a cambelt or a fanbelt or some other belt?
I tried looking at the manual online but it doesn't tell me. Looking online it says chain driven.
Its a 2005, Mazda Axela.

I took a picture

1364303 2014-01-05 06:23:00 Its an alternator belt. (The alternator charges the battery and supplies power to run the electrics.) tut (12033)
1364304 2014-01-05 06:24:00 alternator belt is the same as a fan belt correct?

Online search states the car is chain driven but I don't think I can see it

1364305 2014-01-05 06:29:00 PS, I have never had a Mazda but I am 99.9% sure the Axela has a cam chain rather than a cam belt. A good thing.
It may also have an electric fan so no fan belt. Some one can correct me if I am wrong.

1364306 2014-01-05 07:05:00 It would appear that the vehicle has a cam belt. The vehicle is also related to the Mazda3. Bryan (147)

Fan belt is an old term, as modern fans are electric in cars.

1364308 2014-01-05 08:22:00 Both chains and cambelts are not usually able to be seen without taking the head off the engine. So yeah I reckon what tut said... alternator/fan belt. Greg (193)

The 2.3's are def Chain, I'm 95% sure the 2L is and 70% sure the 1.5: is. Being it's an east west config engine it will def be electric fans.

The name depends on how old the mechanic is. Accessory belt, drive belt, auxillary belt, fan belt etc, call it what you will.
