| 1363866 | 2013-12-29 18:07:00 | I heard this being broadcast over the ZB Talkback on my car radio. A young girl called Virginia wrote to the New York Sun in 1897 to find out from them if Santa was real. This is the reply she got. www.newseum.org |

Some relatives of mine had an awkward situation one year.....the kids didn't get the asked for presents (due to finances) and were utterly devastated and wanted to know what terrible things they had done to miss out. I never did it with my son....he never seemed to care, he knew presents would come, perhaps not always the expensive item, but he knew why if that was the case....he did keep quiet with his friends about it....only once when he had to attend a Xmas event with a santa he commented to the santa that he knew he was really <name> dressed up. How about the really poor kids all over the world that miss out? Explain the santa crap to them..... |

And, of course, he flies around the sky on Christmas Eve in his sleigh pulled by his reindeer and he comes down the chimney to deliver presents to good little boys and girls. What could be more real? There are those among us that would refute these facts, but these people have no feelings and have no love in their hearts. It must be very sad to be a non believer, to have no faith. So Cic, you can rest assured that Santa Claus exists. He lives in the hearts of children all over the world and will continue to endure as long as there are children. |

Albert Einstein is quoted as saying "Imagination is more important than knowledge". We spent Christmas 2012 with our son and his young family in Brisbane. At a pre-Christmas church service the minister announced that the sermon on Christmas day would include 'Is Father Christmas real?' There were some startled looks from a lot of the parents and I know there were a few worried phone calls between some of them. They needn't have worried, it was handled very well, with the story of Saint Nicholas/Nikolaos of Myra as per KarameaDave's link. |
