Desktops won't disappear, they will just be assigned to a niche market and there is nothing to stop someone doing "serious" work on a tablet now, some apps have already been re designed to cater for different types of corporate users. The gaming market itself is also going through a lot of diversification which now includes the hardcore gamers on custom built PC towers as well as the social app and social networking gamers who contribute to a greater slice of the revenue pie. |

Ergonomics are not an issue considering that most tablets have 3rd party covers that allow the tablet to be propped up at a 45 degree angle if that is required. So when you say pathetic keyboard, is this because you are trying to type out really long emails or word documents? Or is it just the fact that you don't like tablets, because they force you to take a different approach to a familiar task? |

On screen keyboard won't cut it, unless you're a masochist. And yes, I know you can carry around a keyboard as well as your tablet, then you add the stand, plus probably a mouse... might as well get a laptop where everything is in one case. Or hey, yeah, maybe that's just my preference. I still think for doing anything above tweeting and farcebooking, tablets are pretty lame. |

Very true with regards to any sort of programming although I do see a lot of people using different sized laptops for coding so a tablet wouldn't be out of the question. I just use a regular desktop computer and Sublime text 2 As to what you can do on a tablet..... there's social networking, educational apps, reading, social gaming, online shopping, researching stuff, taking photos, recording video... the list goes on. |

Have any corporates migrated to 8 ? (What ever they do next, they had better get some decent feedback from users and reviews first before releasing another dud! like Vista and 8) |

Baring in mind that many northern hemisphere enterprises have to cater for a minimum of 100,000 users which usually involves a whole lot of 3rd party software testing before you are able to deploy which means they will be on Windows 7 as long as it is adequate for the job. |
