| 1378768 | 2014-07-08 03:53:00 | Hi, I am wondering for anyone out there with an XBOX 360 E console, what is the largest hard drive you have installed? I know of 320Gb, as the largest in size so far, but in techy world, I still believe it is possible a user can also add a 500 Gb hard drive or higher as well? If anyone has gone over 320gb, what brand and Sata type or size did you use? What partition tool did you use to partition the hard drive in FAT32 or NTFS perhaps? You maybe asking yourself, why haven't I done this already? Well, I am a newbie at XBOX stuff and the reason is because it appears that FAT32 is the only file format readable for XBOX 360 consoles and there are limitations to how FAT32 can exceed the 4 Gb limit????? (I stand to be corrected here)So, I have yet to come across a person so far from an observational point of view who I know of to have successfully installed a larger hard drive than 320gb. I personally want to use a Seagate hard drive as I find (from personal experience) these still outclass Western Digital models (even some newer ones I have tried), in my opinion. I am only saying this, because from watching YouTube videos and reading other internet sites, Western Digital HDDs are the only ones that can be used. I don't have any concrete evidence if this is the case, as why I am here asking for any ones experience in using another brand model or even a larger hard drive for that matter? Cheers. |

So it can use it Thanks Speedy, So how do you format the HDD so that Xbox can recognize it in Fat32 format? Can I do this using standard partition methods using inbuilt windows programs like FDISK, Diskpart? 3rd Party tool: Easeus Diskpartition , or do I need a specialized program to format a hard drive? |

| 1378771 | 2014-07-08 10:32:00 | I dont know what format it formats it in. But you can format it within the Xbox's options. Under system / storage. Highlight the hdd / press Y then select format. But depending on the hdd youre installing in it, it may or may not appear. Even if you format it in windows. The first thing I would say it'll look for is the firmware to see if its an Xbox approved hdd. If it isnt then it wont appear under system. And you wont be able to format it. Or use it |
