1378567 2014-07-04 20:59:00 I did some research and came up with this SSD drive as the Best 120 GB drive which I want for my OS. Price isn't a consideration so is this the best drive I can buy? I know that best can mean a lot of things but I want the fastest because it's for my OS. Would this me my best choice?

1378568 2014-07-04 21:54:00 Yup I brought the Evo 256 GB 2 weeks ago. Was going to get the 120 GB Pro, but decided to get the 256 GB Evo instead.

Haven't used it yet. Still have to buy some memory to see if it works. Just brought a modular PSU, on Thur, and it arrived yesterday

Personally though I'd go the way speedy did, any current decent brand SSD is so fast that it'll be awesome as an OS drive but having a bit more space to install things on lets you take more advantage of it. I use an 830 series 256 and have my OS on it as well as all my normal programs and the games I play the most. I managed with a 120 for quite a while and it was still great but the size of the 256 is a bigger advantage in my opinion than the extra speed of the fastest model.

Samsung have a 750G model that I'm very interested in, hoping in another 6-12 months it'll be cheaper.

1378570 2014-07-05 07:32:00 And the 850 Pro has just come out too. Mines the 250 not 256. Pro is just too expensive for the same amount of GB Speedy Gonzales (78)
1378571 2014-07-05 08:48:00 I've hit the limit on my 120 GB SSD (which Explorer reports as 111 GB). Wish I had got 256.... BBCmicro (15761)

1378575 2014-07-06 05:22:00 I'm only hitting my 120G limit coz I've been playing a bunch of games... So I popped one of them on my HDD instead of my SSD. Still ticks along just fine at 95% capacity. Chilling_Silence (9)
1378576 2014-07-06 22:50:00 Just installed an EVO 840 120GB last night... seems good so far :D

If you can afford the Pro - go for it, but the standard EVO should last long enough and perform well enough.
Samsung & Intel SSDs are about the best on the market at the moment.
