However that needs a computer at both ends., on Messenger.Is it possible to speak to someone there using a computer here but into their phone on BT, Free as in Messenger? PJ | Poppa John (284) | ||

The reason is that you will need to connect into the BT POTS network and BT will want a ticket clip for that. However, you might look at service such as Skype. They can get to the UK via the IP network then connect into BT. So you end up only paying for the local call. Hunt out skype.com and see if it helps. Cheers, Lindsay. |

That's interconnection costs plus local call costs (or toll call costs) so someone has to pay, somewhere. Different for PC to PC, as each party is already paying something anyway (your normal ISP fees) to get on the internet in the first place. |
