320846 2005-02-03 17:39:00 btw. Starlyte isn't a new outfit, they've been around a while. They've had a recent change of ownership I believe.

When a one man online retailer changes hands and moves cities it becomes a new outfit.

320847 2005-02-03 19:10:00 I've used DragonPC twice, the first time I ordered it online and it was shipped out, there were a few delays (caused by certain components being out of stock) but when I got the components they were all in good condition, no complaints there . Second time I went out to their store by Hoyts 8, they were helpful there, and told me that the RAM I wanted they only had in stock in their Avonside store, went there, and the store looks shoddier than their website . Went in, there was a stack of dead looking components with a roll of toilet paper on top of it, was a mess . However, service there was good too, got the ram I wanted, ordered another stick since they only had one in stock, which arrived a couple of days later . Very good service, would deal with again .

StylesPC though . . . stay away from him, he's a rude (insert very insulting expletive here)

Here's a post I made about him in an online retailer thread on gpforums . co . nz

Styles PC (http://www . stylespc . com/)
Rating: 1/10
Total cost of purchases: $1200+
Comments: Ordered the stuff online and paid for it on labour weekend . My dad (who does all the online purchasing, etc) contacted him to let him know that he got the money . Waited a week and emailed him . He said that there was a delay on the RAM and we'd get it by the end of the week . Didn't get it . Dad emailed him the beginning of the week . Ended up getting all the stuff a couple of weeks after the order- apart from the RAM which was ordered from him . Dad sent an email saying that this was getting quite exasperating, and Mr Styles replied . . .

exasperating? who uses that word hahaha . .
After a few more emails between him and my dad, he sent this:

Hello Mr Wilkinson,
Please don't think you are being smart or pressuring me . . you are acting like a kid, I've been reading your posts in the forums and frankly I'm not surprised there rookie . What i am surprised about, is how late your care givers are letting you stay up!

Anyway, the money will be refunded tonight, it'll be in your account tomorrow, it may not show up until Friday, such is life with online banking these days, if you are as intelligent as you think, you'll understand this to be true .

Please be sure to shop elsewhere next time and do us both a favour ok? and please don't bother to reply to this, if you have not seen the funds by Friday at the latest, THEN and only then, get in touch ok?

Good luck getting through life . . I feel you'll need it?
He obviously thought my dad was me, because I used the username Zygar when I registered on the site using my dads name .

He also told us that if the emails were posted, he would take legal action and tell other online retailers not to deal with us .

Maybe we just had a bad experience with him . The stuff that did eventually arrive, arrived in good condition .

The morning after the incident, he sent my dad this email .

Good Morning Peter,
I just thought I would send you this picture of the ram, that arrived this morning, I thought I would go some way toward proving I was not lying regarding the ram arriving .
I didn't just got and pick this up from a local supplier either, the Importer is in Auckland, so it was shipping when I said it was shipping, although YES, it did arrive late .
I can also send you a screen shot of the refund if you wish, although I'm more than happy to show this to your lawyer at any stage if he/she wishes to call me .
I am sorry things got a little nasty, but I think it's worked out for the best, for both of us .
Thanks for your time .

Regards
John Styles
