| 320869 | 2005-02-02 19:32:00 | Sorry for the long title, but I wanted to be as specific as possible. I have done several searches for this information, and so have been unable to get anywhere. When I boot off of the knoppix CD the boot hangs at /dev/scd0 when enabling DMA acceleration. I am sure that the problem is related to the fact that I am running my hard drives off of a promise RAID controller, even though the bios is set to treat the controller as a regular EIDE. I can use the boot option knoppix nodma and it will boot into X window correctly. The problem then is that I have not been able to mount my drives manually once into x window session. I have tried numerous times. Typically my attampts follow this basic pattern. su - root mount -rw /dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1 I have tried many different options where I am specifying different hda* options, where * is variable. If it is any help I am using the asus p4c800-E Deluxe mobo, with 2gb corsair ram. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated, and I am sorry if my post is incorrectly placed, etc... Also, if anyone knows of a forum that specifically deals with knoppix (wasn't able to find a working official one off of google) please let me know. Thanks, Krellor |
