| 320751 | 2005-02-02 09:26:00 | For those of you who want to run your old applications on your latest PC (yes I saw the 16 bit thread but didn't want to hijack it) I came across this website today. It might help those that want to use their old software but are worried about the life of their old hardware, or those that are worried about compatibility with new equipment. I saw someone using this today to run Windows for Workgroups 3.1 and an old DOS version on an XP PC . http://bochs.sourceforge.net/ |

| 320753 | 2005-02-02 20:23:00 | Ive used qEmu to run WinXP, as well as Win98.. qEmu is similar to Bochs. Check out ReactOS for another example of an OS running under Bochs - Only 7mb or so |

| 320755 | 2005-02-03 01:00:00 | That's nothing. What the world needs is an emulator which makes a 386SX20 run like a 3GHz Pentium. ;) The problem with emulation is getting any speed. It's quite easy to make a 3GHz Pentium run like a 386SX20. There's a very old computer joke about emulation. "An astronomer wrote a model of stellar evolution. It worked. It ran in real time." :@@: |
