321333 2005-02-04 01:45:00 I recently downloaded Power Toys image resizer on 2 different computers both running Windows XP sp2 home editions. It works perfectly on one but not the other.....the option is there on the menu when I right click the image and allows me to resize it but it doesn't resize the image. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but no luck. It's frustrating because I send a lot of photos by email and it's such a quick and easy tool to use.

Any suggestions would be appreciated...thanks.

321334 2005-02-04 02:12:00 Try http://www.irfanview.com

Might be better.

321335 2005-02-04 02:25:00 I have irfanview, love the program it is my image viewer by default and I had been resizing my photos with it. The power toys image resizer is quicker you just right click the photo and resize..you only have 4 options for resizing but it suits me for emailing. But if it's not going to work on my main computer I'll go back to irfanview.

Thanks.

321336 2005-02-04 02:30:00 It might be as small as it can get. That might be why it does nothing to the pic. Speedy Gonzales (78)
321337 2005-02-04 03:36:00 I checked that...but that's not the prob. It works perfectly on my laptop. A mystery to me. zilla (6627)
321338 2005-02-04 03:38:00 yeap, i sometimes get a few pics that cant get any smaller, doesnt matter really. try changing the pic format though.... Prescott (11)
321339 2005-02-04 03:46:00 It's not some it's all of them....none of them will resize. It's almost like a program is blocking it so the changes can't be made. I shut down any of the likely programs but that made no difference. I can resize them in Irfanview so I will stick to that program...at least it's reliable.

thanks for your help everyone...appreciate it.

321340 2005-02-04 04:50:00 I haven't got around to reinstalling that app since reformatting but it was rather handy. What I have taken to using now is Windows Explorer's "Send to>Mail recipient' and using the resize option in there. You are given three choices of sizes if you click on Show More Options and it puts your pics straight into a new email. FoxyMX (5)
321341 2005-02-05 03:57:00 I used to have that option but I don't use Internet Explorer any more I use Mozilla Firefox with Thunderbird. zilla (6627)
321342 2005-02-05 05:03:00 Ummmmmmmm just recalled I had the windows resizing option on my laptop and just checked it out. Yes! it is working on my laptop using the same programs with Mozilla. For some reason I can't use either resizing programs on my desktop...only irfanview. I have just recently had windows reinstalled, complete install..so I'm not sure what the problem is. zilla (6627)
