321258 2005-02-03 22:33:00 You know how you right click on C drive and hit clean or whatever.. well yea I've done that and it says disk cleaning or w/e and it gets to like 3 bars complete and stays that way, I have left it over night and still same thing.. I can never do it. I've defragmented computer 1000 times and its still same.. Any ideas?? I just want to clean up my computer.. and for those programs when u try to delete and it says "Cannot find INSTALL.LOG" or etc etc something like that, how do I get rid of them? Slacker (5977)
321259 2005-02-03 22:45:00 You could give CCleaner a go... www.ccleaner.com ... free download of 400kb anek dotal (7108)
321260 2005-02-04 00:31:00 RegCleaner may also be of use

321263 2005-02-04 01:20:00 zimmy,
do you mean adware/spyware on your system? If so you will want AdAware www.lavasoftusa.com and Spybot www.safer-networking.org/ for a start.

I was searching in google to find out what they are but how do i prevent them from getting there to begin with? zimmy (7136)

first step in prevention would be to stop using internet explorer if you are using it now. Switch to Firefox www.mozilla.org, or opera www.opera.com. Microsoft Antispyware (Win 2K, XP & 2003 only) seems good so far and will help prevent these things from installing themselves as will SpywareBlaster www.javacoolsoftware.com
