321396 2005-02-04 04:04:00 Ok, every time I try to play a DVD on my PC, with dolby I can bearly hear anything, the speakers, and all volume sliders are maxed as well as the controler in the programs I have used, I've tried WMP RealPlayer PCFreindly logitech, but all have the same problem, any suggestions?
BTW system sounds blast me, when I try them.

321397 2005-02-04 04:47:00 Have you got a cable from the DVD drive to your sound card? Have you got the drive's "digital audio" option set in its hardware Properties? Graham L (2)
321398 2005-02-04 04:52:00 I have a laptop, it was already factory setup, and I DO get sound, just very little... blah1985i (7142)
321399 2005-02-04 04:55:00 Try using PowerDVD

Basically DVD sound is always quieter, and PowerDVD has the option of increasing the volume of the DVD sound for laptop speakers.

Otherwise, try VLC (VideoLAN Client) as I believe it also does under the advanced config options :)
