I've found large some files that I don't recognise that have appeared in My Documents. When I open them all I find is a load of symbols. They are MUICtrl.csf, MUICtrl.MSF and DPR.DUS.

My instinct is to delete them, but I get nervous about doing that . Any one know what they are and what I should do?

I've had it suggested that at least the DUS may be connected to my scanner installation, but why would it install in My Documents?

321114 2005-02-03 09:36:00 A quick google suggests they are all related to scanner software,as to why they apear in your My Documents folder....I would imagine the scanner sends the images there by default and the same location was considered good enough by the programmer......are they tagged as hidden by any chance?

If it was me i would delete em just for the hell of it,

321115 2005-02-03 09:39:00 DPR.DUS is your "Readiris" OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software that will have been installed by the scanner programs.

Specifically it is the font dictionary file.

MUICtrl is also scanner software related.
