2005-02-03 07:23:00 | Hi, I just bought a new gigabyte geforce 6600 gt agp video card and am having a few problems. All processes seem to have slowed down a bit and I am getting periods of low frame rates in games. Games are also crashing when I exit to the main menus. I play Half Life 2 and Battlefield Vietnam. I have an Intel D865gbf mobo which comes with integrated graphics which are automatically disabled when an AGP card is inserted. I also uninstalled the integrated graphics drivers. I have a P4 2.4ghz processor and 512 MB of DDR ram and run Windows XP. | ad_267 (6193) | |

2005-02-03 07:45:00 | Yes I plugged that in. Now when I start up my PC I can't get any video signal so I have to use another computer to do this. I tried pulling out the card and reinserting it but that hasn't helped. | ad_267 (6193) | |

2005-02-03 08:26:00 | did you use drivercleaner3 to remove the "left" over drivers? did you go into the bios and manually disable the intergrated graphics? because i also had to do this even though it automaticly uses the agp port | Prescott (11) | |
2005-02-03 19:27:00 | I looked on the BIOS but there was no way to disable the onboard and the mobo manual said that it is automatically disabled. I did not use the driver cleaner but I don't think the drivers are the problem as when the computer boots there is no video signal. | ad_267 (6193) | |
2005-02-03 21:12:00 | I have reinserted the card again and now I'm not getting the no video signal problem but games still seem to have a lot lower fps than they should. I don't know if this is the video cards fault or something else. | ad_267 (6193) | |
2005-02-03 22:58:00 | OK I took it into the shop and they tested it and it went fine. They said that it is probably because I only have a 300watt psu that came with my augura case. Would this cause low frame rates and games crashing? | ad_267 (6193) | |
2005-02-04 03:34:00 | possibly, try a new one. what brand psu do you have? the 300W doesnt really mean that much becuase i have seen 6800GT working fine with 250W shuttle psu's, its the quality and brand that is more important. is the card inserted all the way in? as in right in the bottom of the agp slot, sometimes its a tad hard to slip it in.
