321742 2005-02-05 07:38:00 I have in front of me a CDR disc that is 80mm across,25mins,218mb. What would one use this for & in what M/c ? PJ Poppa John (284)
321743 2005-02-05 08:22:00 It will work in any CD player PJ, open the tray and you should see an 80mm depression in the centre.

Pop it in that and in all respects other than capacity it is a normal CD. I use Imation 202 MB versions to mail smaller files as they are easier to post.

321745 2005-02-06 00:41:00 Where do you get those smaller cdr discs from?. I too mail a few discs to friends overseas. I put video on them in the vcd format. Would they be ok for that?.
Cheers lazydog.

321746 2005-02-06 00:45:00 Dick Smith have them Catalogue XM4192
$7.98 for 5 (dearer than full size)

I often use them for sending data by snail mail, as they fit in a standard envelope.

321747 2005-02-06 00:55:00 Not cheap allright.
I think i'll just keep using the normal 700mb/80 min size ones.
Cheers.

321748 2005-02-06 01:01:00 Just had a look at the dick smiths site and they're not to bad a price really. Didnt realise they come with cases. One question though is does anyone know if they can be played in a home dvd player? lazydog (148)
321749 2005-02-06 01:52:00 Should be OK LD, just so long as the disk tray has the 80mm recess . My Lenoxx DVD player looks like it has a standard computer DVD unit in it and its tray is recessed .

I even have an 80mm x 60mm "business card" cd with flat sides (from Software Images Ltd) that played OK, but the data had a nasty in it somewhere that stuffed access to Word 2000 so I'll not run that again .
