| 321700 | 2005-02-05 02:16:00 | I've been trying to make my MUSTEK EP III 1200 scanner work on WinEP, so downloaded the 6 driver files for Win2000 + the fix file. The driver files came as web.W01...web.W06, and althought the 1st semi-opened to become an .exe the others aren't recognised as mustek drivers. (I did the regedit to Win 2000 as instructed). Can somebody out there give me some clues please. There doesn't seem to be any on that dreadful mustek site! :help: |

| 321703 | 2005-02-09 07:55:00 | You would have see this i think and when you say winEP do you mean winXP sorry if you already been there done this . We offer a solution to install a Windows 2000 driver under Windows XP for Scanners . Certain drivers are not fully supportive to the Windows XP, if you need to install them under Windows XP, please follow following steps: 1 . Download the scanner driver for the Windows 2000 . 2 . Download the Windows XP tool, a compatibility utility . 3 . Execute the fixwinxp . exe . (Windows XP tool) When you have selected the language, you'll see a pop-up Window . Please select Windows 2000 driver (for example: Run . EXE or web . EXE), and follow the on-screen orders . 4 . If you don't know how to install, Please download Instructions and refer to WinXP_Install . html . If you can't install XP-Tool, please follow these steps: 1 . From the "Start" Menu, select "Run . . . " and run "Regedit . exe", the registry editor . 2 . Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion, change "ProductName"'s value from "Microsoft Windows XP" to "Microsoft Windows 2000" . 3 . Install the Windows 2000 driver . 4 . After a successful installation, please restore your original settings in Regedit . |

| 321704 | 2005-02-09 07:59:00 | So if you run number one (the exe) it just stalls and fails to find the second file ? In that case you may have a corrupt file. This does work since I've done it with the same scanner and it went flawlessly. Ran the exe and it picked up the following parts sequentially and automatically. Unfortunately the scanner still ran like a dog with a lot of lockups afterwards. It was a bit of a heath robinson driver lashup and no substitute for a dedicated driver. |
