| 321587 | 2005-02-04 18:51:00 | Hello Folks, I'm running XP on a Hewlett Packard and have just bought an external DVD writer. I've downloaded it onto my computer, but when I launch it, a little window pop's up telling me it doesn't recognize the driver. Any hints? :help: |

| 321588 | 2005-02-04 19:07:00 | Greetings benelailax, Welcome to PressF1! Can I ask what you've downloaded on to your PC? If you're running WinXP then there should be no need to install any drivers. Have you checked in the Device Manager to make sure there are no conflicting devices. What is it that you installed? The software that came with it? What type of drive is it? Cheers Chill. |

I haven't checked the device manager yet as you sugested to see if there is any conflicting devices. I'll go do that now. Thanks again. |

| 321592 | 2005-02-06 23:51:00 | Being a little inexperienced with such things, I downloaded unecessary software that prevented XP from automatically recognizing, as chill pointed out, my DVD burner. So, I dumped the software and away it went :@@: I burned my first DVD. The problem now is, the DVD gets to the menu stage on my DVD player connected to my TV and freeze's there! Is it a formatting difficulty I've run into? The DVD burner is a Dick Smith dual system (DVD+ - RW). |
