We can then investigate from there.

321608 2005-02-09 23:38:00 Nice little program that, Chilling_Silence, and it informed me that I definitely have 2.0. I have two slots at the front of my computer and one at the back.
I guess it's a matter of trying them out individually?

321609 2005-02-10 00:51:00 They should all be 2.0 ?!

What motherboard?

321610 2005-02-10 00:59:00 Yes, I they all are.
What could be the problem then with 'Shrink' being so abominably slow?

321611 2005-02-10 01:34:00 Personally, I'll be blunt and say Operator error :p

How long does it take when it analizes the DVD? Should take about 2 mins (Unless you're burning up your CPU with something else).
Full DVD backup takes approx 20-25 mins on my old 1.46Ghz AthlonXP

321612 2005-02-10 02:42:00 The DVDShrink forum does have some info on some external enclosures that cripple rip speeds. Why not have a look there since the original problem has turned into a "Shrink" one. PaulD (232)
321613 2005-02-10 03:01:00 Your probably right, Chilling_Silence, but I just can't see where I'm going wrong.
But thanks for all your help folks.
