2005-02-07 09:36:00 | Hit 're-author disc' This will list the components on the DVD, and then double click the file under Main Movie.... This will add it into the section on the left. If desired you can also set the start and end point of the extraction in order to improve quality of your movie.(keep am eye on the compression level, its displayed quite prominently) Then hit Backup and awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy you go.

2005-02-07 09:47:00 | Chill, Just went and looked at the link you provided....kicked own bottom several times and returned to write this. It's a while since my last dvd backup but those programs have been great. The example shown in the demo I've just looked at made selecting what to dump look easy but I think I try too hard. I probably went too far and opened those folders and found too much to choose from. For instance I remember three or four choises for English in Audio files. Maybe it's best to leave audio alone. Thanks again...Ken | paradox (1082) | |

2005-02-07 23:50:00 | After finally believing I had got a handle on this DVD burning business, I went to burn a disk off last night only to find that, when I initiated the shrink program, the time meter indicated it would take between thirteen and twenty hours to burn a copy! Have I lost a component or something. My decrypting program runs without a hitch, but 'Shrink' has developed this problem :help: .

2005-02-09 01:09:00 | Why is my burner running so slow? (See message above)

2005-02-09 01:25:00 | What is your CPU Make & size? Amount of Ram? (hopefully not 128 as HP were sticking in a lot of machines for a while) How much hard drive space do you have left? How many background processes do you have rumming? When was the last time you did a defrag? What speeds are the DVD burner capable of Are you on USB 1.1 or 2.0 or firewire? Some answers to the above will help find the bottleneck Also do you have Shrink set to run as a background process?

2005-02-09 01:49:00 | The CPU is is intel at 1.8. I have both plenty of RAM (256) and space. I think I have about 43 background processes running and I just defraged a couple of nights ago. The burner is a 16+ at a 1.1 USB port.

2005-02-09 01:54:00 | Actually, bartsdadhomer, I'm not really sure if 'Shrink' is running as a background process. How would I find that out? | benelailax (5738) | |
2005-02-09 02:00:00 | USB1.1 - Bad idea..... Wont _EVER_ go over 1x. In fact it cant even make it to 1x Goto pricespy.co.nz and buy a USB2.0 PCI Card for about $35 from a nearby retailer! Then you can burn as fast as you like. 256mb ram is plenty, as-is CPU. Chill.

2005-02-09 02:07:00 | Chilling_Silence: I have three USB ports on my computer . Could one of them possibly be a 2 . 0? I wish I wasn't such a damned amateur :annoyed: .
