321499	2005-02-05 06:26:00	I don't get the impression from Chill's posts that moderation will be based on personality, as Metla suggests. "Insults & snide remarks " are the targets defined.. Indeed, he says there's nobody he dislikes or has a grudge against. Obviously we won't all agree on which words are insulting & which remarks are snide: that probably depends on attitude as much as age. However, most of the irritating/offensive/argumentative & monotonous sniping can be seen immediately for what it is - by most readers, even if not by the poster. The "Think before you press the button" theme's been repeated here so often it sounds almost as boring as the sarcasm from the impatient types among us. But not quite as boring.... I guess this will test how much actual common sense people have, irrespective of their computer knowledge. Not a bad thing...	Laura (43)
321500	2005-02-05 07:09:00	I do not envy the moderators position . Moderating an yahoo E-group of 70-something people a couple of years ago was enough to have me puking . It only took one person, who i may add took great pleasure in stirring me up any way she could, and the job became somewhat of a chore . While i am glad that the forum is colored by many colorful characters, it can not see how we can avoid moderation on personality . Consider this: If it is in ones nature to be arrogant, abusive, pointlessly rude, and generally a complete ass, then perhaps one has a personality that will attract moderation? :D	personthingy (1670)

You want the truth??????????? the truth hurts usually and most people squirm or fight when confronted with the truth . people are all individuals and for you to say what is right or wrong is a bit bad when you have been in the past been just as unprofessional in some of your language . do you think that the only way people will listen is by yelling at them? because i think the profanity thing is just about as bad as TALKING IN UPPER CASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i for one dont beleive you have no grudges . . . . . everybody has little spats and bad vibes feelings etc . and yes it does often unknowingly taint your thoughts . I have learnt often in the last couple of years, that the ones that get somewhere in the world are usually the noise makers, not the trouble makers, just the ones that always are their, in the thick of things, and out for themselves to hell with others . I have and probably will always be on the sidelines, being the person who yells stupid jibberish, and gets ignored, the same as on pf1 . the same as some of my life, some of my work and some of my study, all because of some big headed nobody thinks he knows me better and says this is what ya do . People will be people, and yeah i think some of your ideas suck, but hey thats your opinion . and this is mine, you cannot tell me that i am not entitled to this thought, or attitude . AND this we you talk about? was this your idea? or the moderators in general idea? you talked to BB and Jen about this? at that hour? yeah sure . You are not the b all and end all of this forum, you need to listen to the consensus . Both of the moderators, and pf1 contributors . random banning because you perceive something to be true, or not? This also favouratism against people, such as say ME . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . doesnt matter what i say, who i yell at or what i yell, and no matter how bad i think i have been im not bad enough or rude enough to be banned? but say Metla (sorry sweetie just an example) says something and wham he's gone? and you tell me thats not bias . ?????????????????????? thats a big fat useless joke . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . i dont beleive it any more . Whilst he may be of help sometimes, I believe, the majority of the time, he is a cynical, sarcastic person . He always has to harrass people who ask stupid questions/who are newbies . It seems he takes pleasure in doing this . Grow up Metla, this is supposed to be a happy place . You are entitled to an opion, however, you are not entitled to be abusive towards other members . I remember when I asked a simple question back on the old forum, yes, it was kind of stupid, but many people were nice and helped me through it . Unlike you, who I remember you saying something along the lines of 'This is a forum for serious questions . ' Then again, that is JUST MY OPINION . Altec_ While Metla is not likely to be the next secretary general of the united nations or be considered for the popes job when he finally passes on, I believe that your opinion is fundamentally flawed or to put it it another way --- "cojones" (please translate into native scottish) But on another note and somewhat related to chills observation . There does seem to be a lot less technical requests than say 6 months ago . The reason I joined F1 was because of the scope and depth of the knowledge that was available . I think there is less of that evident but it could be just my imagination . There definitely is less "in your face ***** slapping contests" then there used to be but more of the subtle moaning and innuendo . Doesn't bother me though I am shy, quiet and retiring by nature and avoid arguing with alimentary canal orifices because theres always someone with enough angst to want to get the last word in .
