| 321658 | 2005-02-04 22:22:00 | I bought a Pine SiS 315E video card, 32MB, SiS 315, PCI for an old Dell GX110 thinking it would play older video games like Jedi Knight. However when trying to play the game I get the following message. Jedi Knight is an old game which will probably work with that card, but Jedi Academy (which it appears is actually the game you're trying to run) is fairly recent in comparison, and I would think would be unlikely to be played on the video card. The required system specs listed on the game website say a 100% Directx9 system is required - I doubt that the video card in question will be Directx9 compatible. Mike. |

They take the load off your system memory, they will enhance your 2d and lightweight 3d use but gaming cards they aint. The driver support in most games is lacking and if you can install it correctly the performance is not what you would call a satisfying experience. | the highlander (245) | ||
| 321661 | 2005-02-05 03:29:00 | Ok - I knew this wasn't going to be a video card to play modern video games (I have other computers for that) but from the "Stunning 3D Gaming" comment on the box I thought it might at least play a game like Highway Pursuit ( . adamdawes . com/windows/win_hpursuit . html" target="_blank">www . adamdawes . com) which it doesn't . Well you can get it started but it freezes pretty quickly . Now I don't know a lot about video cards but I tried running dxdiag and it finds no problem . I can run through each of the tests and I get a pass with no errors reported, and yet Highway Pursuit is meant to need only DirectX8 and the card certainly says it is good for that . I'd have thought I should see some problems when running dxdiag . |
