321633 2005-02-04 21:01:00 I run XP Pro (without SP2) and IE6. I also use ZoneAlarm and Antivirus.

Recently I have found that when dialling in, the computer suddenly cuts out towards the end of the handshake, and goes to the Blue Screen of Death.

The screen, helpfully, sits there for a couple of seconds. Long enough to see a reference that reads something like:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT LESS THAN EQUAL

or maybe

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT LESS OR EQUAL

There is a whole page of info shown, but it is impossible to read in the few seconds available.

Obviously some file somewhere is corrupted, but I have no idea how to correct it!

When it first started I had recently upgraded ZoneAlarm. I removed it completely but the problem continued. I have reinstalled ZA and run a scan which shows me to be clear on this machine. (See my next post)

Would appreciate any advice.

Regards

321634 2005-02-04 22:01:00 Just a quick suggestion
Have you tried deleting your existing dial up connection to your isp and creating a new one ?
Uninstalling your modem driver and reinstalling it ?

321635 2005-02-04 22:34:00 Just read your Dvd thread.Did any of this start occuring when you installed the Software that goes with that..if it did then delete the Software and see what occurs..even maybe remove the entire dvd writer from your system.May be some issue with it and your box. cjongreen (7128)
321636 2005-02-04 22:41:00 Hi Graham. An overseas friend of mine had similar problem recently re DRIVER_IRQL_NOT LESS OR EQUAL and resolved it after Googling the expression. Scouse (83)
