| 321448 | 2005-02-04 08:59:00 | When I have been playing games, such as battlefeild Desert Combat, the screen goes off, and the computer is still running, but nothing happens. Then it says, litrally, speaks, 'System Failed VGA Tech'. Something along the lines of that. It is quite hard to hear. Once it says that, I turn it off. It is new, Windows XP, 1 gig of ram, amd athlon 3500+ 2.2 GHz CPU. I did build it myself but I took it in to be cheeked and they said it was ok.. Any Ideas? Thanks |

| 321451 | 2005-02-04 09:16:00 | Is this an ASUS mobo?? The voice u hear is built in speech - Post reporter. (I think) If it is an ASUS mobo, according to this manual I have for an ASUS mobo (not the same as yours), that error if its System failed VGA test (not tech), it means: Install a PCI card into one of the PCI slots, or a 1.5v AGP card into the AGP slot. And make sure the VGA/AGP card isnt defective. Maybe the video card you're using has the wrong voltage?? Have a look on your mobo if it is an Asus, and see if there is an LED by the AGP port. If this is on or "lit" it can mean the card u have in it is the wrong voltage. (BUT if this were the case, I think it stops the system from booting at all). Are you using an AGP videocard?? |

| 321452 | 2005-02-04 09:50:00 | I have got the Gaphics card in the AGP slot. There is a green LED on the motherboard, to the left of the PCI slots in the corner but in the manual it says that it is there to remind you to switch off the power before changeing any components. The System Failed VGA Test tells me the same thing as you manual does. SO i do have a card installed in the AGP slot. So does that mean that the graphics card is defective? The games play for a while, sometimes longer than others. | Tribomb (5547) | ||
