| 322271 | 2005-06-07 03:01:00 | If you ever lose the sticker, here's a little program that will extract the serial from the registry www.magicaljellybean.com Actually no it doesn't. I downloaded it on a laptop that has the key code sticker on the bottem. I ran this program and it gave me a totally different key. I don't think I could have done it wrong. I even downloaded the new beta test one and it came up with the same wrong code. My real code begins with Q9D8F and this program claims its RCBF6. Are there any things I should know, like does it not work with home edition, not on a laptop....not dell computers...yada yada. |

The code in the registry is from the OEM install (they do not individually install each copy using the unique key, but use a master key that the program is now reporting). The software is bulk installed directly to a batch of HDD in the factory That is very common and usual for OEM pre-installs, just think of the time it would take to individually load a unique key for each install, and then make sure that the exact HDD goes to the right PC. I suspect it will not allow you to use the master key again though, thats what the sticker is for. |
