322115 2005-02-07 18:41:00 You may want to try a PCI card (www.dse.co.nz) to allow larger hard drives than your mobo supports.

sry Antmannz that link dosn't seem to show a pci card....

My budget is such that a 40 GB HD is the sweet spot ;)

322117 2005-02-07 21:01:00 I would imagine that if you made your query/purchase at a proper computer shop they would/may look into what your board suports. Metla (12)
322118 2005-02-07 22:34:00 "i have heard it can cause problems" ......hmm........really ?

Some years ago I was using a Seagate drive with Seagate's DDO. A requirement of that system was that to boot from a floppy it was necessary to use a boot disc made by the system as standard boot discs would not recognise the modified partition table or something.

322119 2005-02-07 22:39:00 Seeing as your in Wanganui OP, you'll probably find the right place in Guyton St. Ask for the guy who wears fluffy pink slippers, if you don't spot him immediately ;) Murray P (44)

Not in the white house nearer the river, the stucco one ?

322123 2005-02-07 23:05:00 Fromthis thread on StorageReview (forums.storagereview.net) 40G shouldn't be a problem. The MB recognised 120G but Win98 needed update for FDISK. PaulD (232)
322124 2005-02-07 23:09:00 Ok, to be explicit, it's number 52 Guyton .

To be less explicit, the rumour (rumour?? yeah ok!) about fluffy pink slippers was the edited family version, I'd heard one that mentioned an entirely different type of fluffy pink attire :xmouth:
