322005 2005-02-06 10:04:00 It is quite a bit nicer than Reader6. I haven't had the same issues that I used to have in regards to slow start up times (even after the quick-fix thing). It's also had no issues inside Mozilla Firefox. Seems to be a winner to me. Jeremy (1197)
322006 2005-02-06 10:17:00 I've downloaded and installed it on a couple of PC's at work. It looks quite good and is reasonably fast to open. When you are downloading it, make sure you read about all the extra software that is selected by default to be included in the download, and remove the ticks if you don't want them. The automatic add-on's are a for dialup connections a "Adobe Yahoo! Toolbar" and for a broadband connection an additional "Photoshop Album 2.0 Starter Edition" software package.

Thx for the warnings and feedback Jen and others.

Getting it now.

322007 2005-02-06 10:18:00 Ive had this since last year... its been around a while!

No issues with Firefox, and Ive used it on several XP PC's.

Tweak'es right - No 9x support from it though. For that you'll need to stick to an older version.

Well worth the download!

322008 2005-02-06 10:38:00 Wow opens PDFs instantly. Version 6 took like 5-10secs. E|im (87)
322009 2005-02-06 18:22:00 Version 6 took like 5-10secs.

Well for me it took atleast one and a half minutes, after which it froze the system and the browser window it opened in. When openend without a browser, it just crashed itself.

This is as great as Version 5 was (which I still like).

322010 2005-02-07 00:28:00 I noticed that version 7 was out when I had a look at the free magazine (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) last week. After bartsdadhomer mentioned that he found it nice and fast I gave it a go as well and have to agree. It makes a nice change not having to trade an upgrade for a speed decrease.

I didn't see these "options" when downloading and they don't seem to have appeared anywhere.

322011 2005-02-07 04:22:00 I didn't see these "options" when downloading and they don't seem to have appeared anywhere. :confused:You get them if you choose Broadband instead of dialup up for connection speed, and it varies depending on what OS as well. :)

Here is a screeny of what I was meaning - here (tinypic.com)

322012 2005-02-07 09:06:00 Downloading this as we speak, and from my understanding you said you dont get all those options? but while i was in the process of download details it gave me those options when i was not expecting them?

No problems. Dont use the program that often, but nice to have it updated.

Thank you for the link and information.

Very strange. I didn't see any of those options when I went to the download page. This (www.mscandy.orcon.net.nz) is all I saw.

Not that I am complaining... I didn't want any of that stuff anyway. :p
