322173 2005-02-06 22:12:00 When I boot my Toshiba l/top with pre-installed Xp Home Ed I get the following message:-
“PmProxy.exe – Unable to Locate a Component
This application has failed to start because PMCPL.cpl was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”
PMCPL.cpl is not on hard disk – I have searched.
Xp Home Ed was pre-installed, i.e. no CD, so any ideas how to re-install PmProxy.exe?

322174 2005-02-06 22:17:00 It looks like that file has something to do with sound drivers. You'll have to find out what your soundcard is and download and reinstall the drivers off the toshiba site. Speedy Gonzales (78)
322175 2005-02-07 04:11:00 can you get into windows? if you can try everest (www.lavalys.com) a go and that will tell you alot of info about your laptop, from there see what type of sound device you have, google it and download the latest drivers :) Prescott (11)
