321928 2005-02-06 03:46:00 Is there anyway that I could get my MS Office Outlook calender reminders synced with a cell phone or pda?

I would really like to get reminders when I am away from my desk or when I am logged out of my computer. I was hoping there may be a phone or a pda that would sync with my Software that I am already using and be able to give me my reminders via my phone or pda?

I am aware that most phones have a reminder/alarm function but I was hoping to find a phone or pda that would be able to sync with Outlook and be able to manage multible reminders.

Is there any easy way to set something like this up? or does anybody use a paticular phone (pref Telecom) or software that I would be able to do this with?

Thank you as always, all suggestions are appreciated.

Mantis.

321929 2005-02-06 06:45:00 I believe most phones and PDAs have the ability to sync with Outlook or similar programs. You would need a way to connect to the PC (via bluetooth, IR, or cable), but software with the phone or PDA should let you do this. I sync my phone with my PC via bluetooth.

321930 2005-02-06 09:14:00 Hi Mantis,

As mentioned, most PDA's will sync with Outlook, certainly anything that runs Windows Pocket PC 2003.

I wouldn't be without my PDA now. I was having problems with keeping business/personal appointments and reminders, and now have them all in my Outlook calendar, each categorised and coloured so I can see them at a glance, and I don't go anywhere without my Harrier :)

I recently had an HP iPaq 4150, and can highly recommend it. If you do get a PDA, make sure it has inbuilt Wifi & Bluetooth.

I will look into the PDA/s you have mentioned. I will visit my Telecom dealer as I am due for an upgrade with my phone to check if any can sync with Outlook Calender.

Thanks Again.

321932 2005-02-06 23:17:00 I have the Sanyo 8100 Telecom mobile phone. It can sync with Outlokk but you need to buy software and cable. I haven't done this but I beleive the cable/software is around $150 -200. The phone didn't cost me anything so I was tempted to buy the connection kits but decided I wouldn't use the functions enough. Maybe if the kits get cheaper I would buy it. berryb (99)

That's steep! I bought a bluetooth dongle for $40, and used the software that came with the phone and the dongle. Apparently the data-cable option would have been around the same price, also with software.

321935 2005-02-08 10:12:00 All the TelecomNZ Nokia phones support syncing with Outlook using "Nokia Phone Suite" which is freely downloaded from their website.

Now to connect your phone to laptop, easiest would be to use InfraRed port (make sure the Nokia phone you choose has a in-built IR port), or you need to shell out another $75 or more for a USB to Nokia phone cable in case you select a Nokia phone without the IR port.

Cheers
