322666 2005-02-08 03:09:00 The HP Learning Centre have another round of courses beginning soon, including the following:

* Adobe Photoshop 7 basics

* Advanced Microsoft® Excel 2002

* Advanced Microsoft® Publisher 2003

* Advanced Microsoft® Word for Windows

* Become a Microsoft® Windows XP power user

* Beginning Adobe Illustrator

* Introduction to Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004

* Introduction to Microsoft® Office Publisher 2003

* Introduction to Microsoft® PowerPoint

* Introduction to Microsoft® Visual Basic

* Introduction to Microsoft® Word 2002

* Maintaining your Microsoft Windows XP® computer

* Linux 201: administering Linux for users

... and lots of other goodies. Check them out here (www.hplearningcenter.com).

For those who have not heard of them before the courses are done online and are free. See the "How courses work" on the right-hand side of the above page. The only catch is the adverts on the course pages but they are not too obtrusive. I have done a few of them and found them quite useful, picking up some good tips here and there.

Have fun. :)

322667 2005-02-08 05:20:00 Thanks for the reminder about the courses FoxyMX, they are good value. :)

I see that they are still using Fedora Core 2 in their Linux 201: administering Linux for users course which is a pity. It wouldn't be hard to update their notes/lessons for Core 3. Fedora Core 2 is being moved into the Fedora Legacy Project next month as it reaches its "End of Life" date.

Jen - having recently upgraded from RH9 to FC3 I don't think that for a course at this level it matters much what you run - the basics are the pretty much the same.
