322827 2005-02-10 08:53:00 As Win98SE has now been around a while, there are heaps and heaps of patches and fixes to bring it up to date.

If you have the Microsoft Security Update CD that was released last year, that would be a big help.

As well as the Windows update site, here are some useful urls for info on update downloads:

www.microsoft.com

www.usbman.com

www.tacktech.com

322828 2005-02-10 09:08:00 Hi Terry
Thanks for your help.
My friend doesn't want internet access so once all the periphials are getting along OK - her PC should go well.
I've just relaoded Win98se and all is OK so far.
The OS is coming up fine and shutting down is almost instant!
How great things would be without the need for virus scanners, pop-up stoppers, firewalls and the like.....
Next I'll load the M/B drivers... but that's tomorrow...
Again, thanks to all for their help - much appreciated.
