322854 2005-02-08 23:21:00 Hey,

I use my Fedora Core 2 Server box to rip and encode my dvd collection.

I have some of them however that I ripped using another machine.

I use DVD::RIP on the FC2 box for this purpose, but weirdly it can only encode dvd's it ripped (there is no option to input other files, it's like a 1 step process)

Can anyone reccommend another program that can take VOBs and encode to DivX for me?

Ash

Its a txt file that will show you how to convert AVI's etc to DVD - Similar process to go back the other way

Otherwise use mencoder as part of the mplayer packages (Im not sure if Fedora RPM's bundle it seperately).

But DVD > XviD would best be done with mencoder :)

Chill.
