| 322862 | 2005-02-08 23:51:00 | Hi guys, thank you for taking the time to help me out. I recently purchased an Asus S-Presso S1-P111. The case has an "instant on" function which allows you to access your files without booting up the OS. To install these functions, you need an unpartitioned hard disk, and the drive needs to be set as the primary ide master. Problem is... the pc only accepts my sata drive as third ide master. I was told I should try to get the sata drives from the manufacter, however the Asus S-Presso doesn't have a floppy drive, so I wouldn't be able to load those in the XP install. I'm not using any IDE cables for the drive. And i'm using the sata cable, and sata power supply adapter as well. How can I get my sata drive to be the primary ide master, so I can get on with my miserable life? Thanks! Jonathan |

Its usually 3rd of 4th master Unless there's some kind of IDE adapter, which I think there is, BUT its a PCI card you'll have to buy in order to use it You might need something like this www.dse.co.nz |
