The next time I open Explorer it has reverted to an address in the address bar of about:blank and the page displays a site called FindNow. I have run Spybot and Adaware. This is apparently a known problem called the about:blank virus in postings on the web. However there does not seem to be an easy solution to removing it. |

The last two programs which claimed to fix it did a search of my computer, confirmed that about:blank existed and then wanted payment to fix it. Hope this one is better. This hijack is extremely difficult to remove and the usual spyware programs do not remove some variants. The only other option is to do a manual removal which is difficult and complicated. You could try this program which I have not used but looks useful, it has a 5 day trial period. http://www.adwareaway.com/ |
